Ethics Training
Ethics training is a yearly requirement of all New York State Department of Health Environmental Laboratory Approval Program approved laboratories. NYAAEL developed these courses because of the need for a comprehensive course that can be taken by laboratories on an individual basis and fulfills the annual certification requirement required by ELAP. It has been approved by the New York State Department of Health Environmental Laboratory Approval Program and will be accepted by them for all laboratory personnel. Due to the number of laboratories that have taken the initial course, NYAAEL developed a refresher course which has been available for about a year.
As our ethics training has become more popular across the country, we have found it necessary to add an additional training module, for those that have already taken our first two courses. This new, more comprehensive presentation and test called Data Integrity/Ethics Training, is now available. This presentation is for laboratories that are in need of a more inclusive program. For new personnel or labs who have never taken our course, we recommend the initial presentation. For those who have taken the initial course, the refresher course is for you. If your lab has also taken the refresher course, then this new course is the next step. If you are a medium to large lab, then any of the three courses are suitable. The price is the same for each course. NYS DOH CEUs are available for the initial training and the refresher course and will be shortly for the Data Integrity course.
Anyone interested in taking these courses can purchase the courses on this website. If you must use a PO, please checkout with “check or PO number” selected and provide your PO#. When we receive your registration with your PO#, an invoice will be emailed to you. Once payment has been received, a link to the appropriate course will be sent by email. Each laboratory will be given 30 days to complete the course and submit the online test to NYAAEL. Each test will be graded and if a passing grade is achieved, a certificate will be sent by return mail. The following fee structure has been set:
