Summer meeting of the New York Association of Approved Environmental Laboratories to be held in Albany, New York

Registration Fee

Member pre-paid registration is $45 (or mail one Meeting Registration Ticket).  Member registration at the door is $50 or one Meeting Registration Ticket and $5. All 2010 dues must be paid in full to register as a member. Cost for non-members is $60, pre-paid or at the door. Lunch is included.

All members and non-members must respond by Tuesday morning, June 8th if you plan to attend.  You may phone, fax or pre-pay your reservation.  Pre-paid registrants, who fail to attend and do not cancel by Wednesday, June 9th, do not receive a refund. You may send a substitute. Visa, MC, Discover & AMEX accepted.

Directions

From the NYS Thruway: Take Exit 24 to I-87 North. Take Exit 12 Malta. Turn left onto Dunning St. Take left onto State Farm Place after 3 roundabouts. Hyatt Place Saratoga/Malta is on your left-hand side.

From Points North: Take I-87 south to Exit 12 Malta. Bear right off the exit and proceed around two rotaries. Turn left on State Farm Place. Hyatt Place Saratoga/Malta is on your left-hand side.

Reservations for The Hyatt Place can be made by calling (518) 885-1109. The corporate rate for attendees is $99 for a single/double. This rate is only good until May 21st. Please call early. Mention that you are with NYAAEL.

9:30 am Presentation on Current Information for New York State Laboratories
10:45 am Mr. Steven Nieminski, Associate Auditor, from the NYS Health Department Audit Unit will present “The Audit Function.”  This presentation will explain the Auditor’s Independent position, how ELAP Audits are conducted and what happens if there is an Audit exception or refund.
11:30 am Mr. Chuck Haugh from NYS DEC will present “Common Deficiencies in DMR Reporting.” This presentation will focus problems associated with reporting DMR results.
12:15 pm Lunch
1:15 pm Ms. Gale Warren, an auditor from the NYS DOH ELAP program will present “The Most Common Audit Deficiencies for Inorganics.” This presentation will review the most common audit deficiencies found by ELAP auditors for trace metals and automated chemistry.
2:00 pm Dan Dickinson from NYS ELAP will present recent changes within the NY DOH ELAP Program.

NYAAEL has received approval from NYS DEC to provide wastewater operators 3.25 hours of CEU. Anyone interested in receiving these credits, please bring your operator number to the meeting.
