On July 24-26, 2011, in Canandaigua, New York, the New York Association of Approved Environmental Laboratories (NYAAEL) & the Pennsylvania Association of Accredited Environmental Laboratories (PaAAEL) will hold their annual convention & exposition. The Independent Testing Laboratory Assoc. (ITLA) and the Maryland Environmental Laboratory Assoc. (MELA) have been invited to participate as members. This year’s conference will be held at The Inn on the Lake in Canandaigua, NY.
This year’s theme is Laboratory Methodology & Data Quality. Since late fall 2010, EPA has issued updates about the possible addition of methods for
several new contaminants that will effect a variety of environmental testing. At this year’s convention we will include information about several of these methods that could potentially increase laboratory testing. Data quality issues and related topics will also be covered.
There are three concurrent sessions scheduled each day of the conference. For Monday: Session I, we will have “Traceability in the Lab.” For Session II we will present “Changes to PT Regulations in NELAC” and “A Quality Assurance Resource Guide.” For Session III we will partner with TNI to present a Quality Manual Template Workshop.
On Tuesday: Session I we will present “Hexavalent Chromium & Perchlorate Testing”, “Continuous Monitoring in the Chesapeake Bay”, “Low-Level Mercury Testing” & “Laboratory Hazardous Waste”. For Session II we will present “Frac Water Testing”, “2011 Method Update Rule”, “Different Employee Dynamics in the Lab” & “Ethics Training.” For Session III we will partner with TNI to present “Internal Audits, Management Reviews & Corrective Actions.”
On Monday, July 25th, from 2:00 to 5:30 p.m., we will have an exposition with a minimum of 30 exhibitors expected to showcase the latest in laboratory equipment, products, and services.
We would like all of our corporate sponsors to join us as exhibitors for this exposition. This year we will have tabletop booths & will include the following:
- a six foot table, two chairs and a wastebasket
- a standard headsign which will contain your company name, city, state, & booth number
Attendees will be given a list of the vendors, equipment or supplies, and their booth numbers. In addition, we are encouraging vendors to provide us with door prizes that will be awarded during the trade show to promote attendance.
The cost to exhibit is $550 for PaAAEL or NYAAEL Corporate Sponsors or $750 for nonmembers. The above cost will include all of the aforementioned booth equipment as well as lunch for two people on July 25th. Electrical service will be extra and will be arranged through the hotel. Lodging will be your responsibility, but rooms are available for $129 per night plus tax. Our room block is only held until June 23rd. Reservations after that date will be on a space-available basis only and may not be available after this date. Please call (585) 394-7800 and tell them you are with the NY & PA Asson of Env’l Labs.
This year we will again be having the four 30 minute presentations during the trade show that we have had in the past. Please see the sign-up sheet included in this mailing.
Last year we had 26 booths and 64 attendees. We had labs from PA, NY, NH, NJ, & WV. We anticipate 30 exhibitors and 75 participants this year. Booths will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
The full conference brochure will be mailed in May. A list of all registered exhibitors will be listed in the brochure. Please print and fill out this application or register online below. We have a great lineup and expect an excellent turnout. Don’t miss this opportunity.
